Fun

fun

Last but not least, fun.

A game must be fun. It’s the foundation of everything we build, and it will always take precedence over financial returns or real-asset value.

At PetStory, we believe that if a game focuses solely on generating quick profits or “cash-out” opportunities for players seeking fast monetary gain, it inevitably collapses into a Ponzi-like cycle — one where early participants benefit briefly before long-term stability crumbles. That is not the future we want for PetStory.

Building for Joy, Not Just Profit

In the broader Web3 space, it’s common for players to engage primarily for profit and there’s nothing inherently wrong with that. However, we believe that the MapleStory Universe (MSU) has already attracted a large community of genuine players who play for enjoyment, nostalgia, and creativity.

PetStory seeks to build upon that foundation, creating a game that’s genuinely enjoyable, emotionally engaging, and built to last.

Final Words

If you earn and have fun, that’s great. You’ve found both joy and reward.

If you don’t earn but still have fun, that’s still success because entertainment itself has value.

But if you’re not having fun, regardless of the rewards, then we’ve failed our mission.

PetStory’s ultimate goal is to nurture a sustainable, player-first experience, one that prioritizes enjoyment, community, and creativity over speculation. Because in the end, if the game isn’t fun, nothing else matters.
