PetStory was created with a simple question in mind: What do we truly want to achieve in the MapleStory Universe?

Utility

We’re not here to promote ownership, you already own your pets. The NFTs are yours. Collectibles are exciting, maybe you own one of every pet, the rarest #1 pet, or hundreds of duplicates from chasing a raffle drop for that sweet Magnet Effect pet. But as your collection grows, it’s natural to ask: What’s the point of owning something you can’t or rarely use?

Cosmetic NFTs are like clothing, fun to collect and show off, but if they sit unused, their meaning fades. True satisfaction comes when ownership has purpose and shared appreciation among collectors. Yet, we recognize that not every player is here to collect. Utility matters.

PetStory’s mission is to give your unused NFTs (ranging from pets, cosmetic items, skins, chairs or lower-tier equipment that becomes obsolete through power creep) a new playground. We want to turn these idle collections into digital assets that matter in gameplay, contributing towards Nexpace's goal of achieving Utility 2.0.

Competition

Let’s face it: once you’re strong enough to solo endgame bosses, challenge plateaus. Better gear makes strategy less crucial, mechanics dull, routines form, and excitement fades.

That’s why PvP (Player vs. Player) is essential to PetStory. Through constant balance updates and evolving systems, we keep gameplay fresh and competitive.

PvP introduces unpredictability — a space where creativity and player ingenuity thrive. Each match, each meta shift, encourages new team compositions and counterplays. This endless cycle of innovation demands a diverse and ever-changing roster of pets and items, ensuring the thrill of discovery never ends.

Accessibility

MapleStory is a timeless IP that has grown for decades. Its community has matured, many of us are no longer students with endless hours to grind. We now juggle between work, families, and commitments. Time is precious, and uninterrupted gaming sessions are rare.

From a recent MSU community poll in X, we learnt that most players still prioritize the main MapleStory N experience. Therefore, PetStory is designed as a complementary idle-friendly experience to the MapleStory Universe, not a competitor to MSN.

It offers short-session gameplay and offline progression, allowing players to stay connected to the Maple IP even with limited free time. Whether you have a few minutes during a lunch break or a quick moment before bed, your pets can continue growing and adventuring while you focus on real life.

PetStory aims to be available on both mobile and PC platforms. This flexibility ensures that MapleStory fans can enjoy PetStory anywhere, anytime.
